Kids' room make-over

'What I've been up to' Update #2
My second attempt to let you know what I've been up to the last several months since I've not been blogging much!
I finally finished my daughter's room!
The poor girl had to wait forever for me to finish because I kept getting bored and getting into other projects. Finally, however, I did finish :) Here's how it turned out!

BEFORE:

AFTER!!
Giant flowers towering over her head on the walls
Her bed cave with some of mommy's artwork. I may still hang a white bed canopy here, but that will be for another day. (I wish it would stay this clean!)
Photo collage to gradually add to and grow - it already has grown since taking this picture!
Elli decided that she needed to 'help' me every time that I went in to paint her room. So I assigned her to one flower. She did, however, paint on her own and strayed to other parts of the wall and on top of the flowers I already painted - but that was soon fixed and she decided not to do that again. :) I kept it in her flower garden and hope it's not painted over a stud, because I want to cut it out and frame it! She used every color that I used on her wall and did pretty well, I think.
I added embellishments here and there that stick off the wall - butterflies, flower centers, etc.
She's pretty content in here :)
He's not so much.

First (real) haircut!

Sorry in advance that my pictures are sideways this time.

I thought that I would have a little girl with beautiful long hair that I wouldn't have to cut until she was 12 years old...just an occasional trim, ya know? Instead, I got this.
Crazy bad, kid mullet.

So today I decided that I'm just going to do it! I am going to cut her mullet off! It can't look worse. I have to say that I don't know why I waited so long to do this! I freaking LOVE it! It is so pretty! She no longer has "crazy hair" but has beautiful, body filled, curly hair again!

But she looks a lot more like a big girl now...or something...I can't explain it.

Yay!!

After:
It makes me a little jealous.

On another hair note, it is dumping the snow and I don't think I will be able to make it to my own appointment tomorrow.... I AM SO BUMMED!!!

Nap time!

Because I'm their mommy and I can't decide which picture is cutest, I am posting all three.

I love nap time :) We all got to take a nap yesterday! I nodded off nursing Levi, he nodded off while nursing, and Elli nodded off, well, because I made her lay there beside me. I'm glad my camera was handy when I woke up!

Milk issues

This morning Elli decided that she wanted 'Grape Nuts' cereal for breakfast. They are hard enough on my teeth, I can't imagine that they would feel very well on hers...but whatever. I'm not awake in the morning, so she can eat whatever cereal she chooses. Anyways, she apparently got up to see Mike or I while eating, but forgot about her cereal. So when she did finally remember, and went back I hear,

"Ooooh! My milk melted!"

"What?"

"My milk melted!"

What is she talking about?

"I want to eat my cereal, but my milk melted. Oooh. I'm so sad."

Apparently, the grape nuts soaked up all her milk. So, clearly, it melted.

Pictures from today

I know it's been a long time since I've posted....I'll post that later.
For now, here's some pretty pictures of my little girl taken today over at my Grandma's house. This is her Easter dress that my mom made. Very cute, very old fashioned. Elli loves it! Enjoy the pics!

Oh those curls...

She loved sitting in this tree!
And hanging from it...

Snowballs in the sky

The other day it was snowing what looked like snowballs. Giant snowflake clusters falling from the sky. I took E up out of her chair - she was eating (trying to eat) lunch, and we went outside for a second. It was still pretty slippery because of the ice, so we didn't play, but she enjoyed the moment anyway.

Catching snowflakes!

Braids

Can you believe my 2 year old let me do this to her hair?! Too bad she's napping on it right now and ruining my masterpiece!! Ha!

Snow day!

It snowed today! And it wasn't so bitter cold that we couldn't go outside, so Elli and I bundled ourselves up and headed out! Our street is a dead end, so it never EVER gets plowed, no one ever drives on it, and it's a little bit of a hill, so I grabbed a sled and played in the middle of the street. That's right. And it was fun! Then we headed out back, threw snow balls at the dog, played in the swing,

ooo look! what's this!?

pouted because her lip hurts.

The other day, Elli bit through her lip. Poor little thing. It wasn't that bad before, but now it looks (and probably feels) like 2 giant ulcers in her mouth right on her lip. If she eats, it hurts, if she moves, it hurts. If she talks and her lip touches her teeth, it hurts. I feel bad for her, because there isn't a whole lot I can do to help her. I've just given her a popcicle before she eats to kindof numb it, teething tablets because she says her teeth hurt, and occasionally I'll put some baby orajel on it. I don't know what else there is that I can do. Hopefully she'll be able to sleep. She's already cried two or three time since she's been down. :(
But she enjoyed the snow!

snow days already?!

This is yesterday's happy girl! We thought this amount of snow was pretty cool...it's only mid-November!

This is what we woke to this morning! We were out in it bright and early. We couldn't wait any longer!
This is how 24 out of 25 of my pictures look. Here's how they go - "Elli. Elli! Hey! Look at me! Smile! Show me your teeth! Hey! ELLI! Stop for a second. Look at me. Elliza. Smile! PLEASE! Just ONE picture!"
She was way too excited.
