Bathroom make-over

'What I've been up to' Update #1!

Faux painting around a toilet is tricky - but totally worth it :)

A long time ago, I bought some paint to do my guest bathroom - well, I finally finished it! I still think it needs a little craftiness added to the walls, but I haven't decided what yet. Maybe my lovely, fellow crafters can suggest something!

Anyhoo....here's the before:

This is what I saw every time I walked up from the basement or from the garage...
Boring...ugly...and a little creepy....

Now THIS is what I see :) I'm much happier :)
Give me a day (and a babysitter) and I'll transform the place!
Blue walls, yellow rugs...I kindof wish I was a little sick so it wouldn't seem so funny that I go in there a lot right now! Lol!
I did a faux finish on the walls with plastic WalMart bags. I looked like a smurf by the time I was finished! Seriously - my hands are still stained.
Now I have a towel rack! Woohoo!! and Elli has a little mirror at her height
The room is so small, I couldn't get a good shot of the entire mirror collage I did on the wall (behind the commode!). Oh well. But it really brightens up the room!
The trim, doors and cabinet are white along with new knobs. It really is a new room!
My window treatment - I Mod-podged fabric to the window! It's such a small space, I didn't want to weigh it down with curtains and I don't want people lookin' in from the outside - so this was a cheap and crafty alternative! It will come off, but I have no idea how hard it will be to wash the glue off...I don't plan on doing it, so I'm not worrying about it!
I love it so much, that I did it in my other bathroom windows!

I absolutely love this bathroom! The mirror collage is my favorite. The window 'mod podge' comes in second. ha ha. :) I love it - - melinda s.

Jessie,
it's so pretty and fresh! I've heard that you can use liquid starch to attach fabric to a wall, then it will pull off when you're ready, but I'd never heard of using ModPodge. Good idea!

PS I have a plastic stuff that's printed to look like stained glass on my front doors: you spray on soapy water and squeegy on with a credit card!

Do you think the starch recipe you used on the hallway tree would work for the windows?
