mommy's list

So I LOVE trees. Mike and I went out to California for our honeymoon and saw the giant sequioa trees out there and the giant redwoods. I cried when I saw them. To think that I was in the presence of some of the oldest living things on this earth was overwhelming...they were magestic, beautiful, honestly....words can't describe them. This picture is of me sitting in a hole...like we would call a "squirrel hole" in our trees around here. Funny thing, though...Mike is taking the picture from inside the tree. Yeah...they are big.
I always call myself a "tree hugger." I love to look at trees, touch them, lean on them, hug them, decorate with them, draw them, paint them....really, anything I can. They provide so much life. They provide me with oxygen to breathe! They are AWESOME! It brings me much pain to see them getting cut down.
So the point is, I found this vest I want to officially start my Christmas list with (size medium). The vest is on this website that supports rainforest preservation, and proceeds of any purchase go towards preserving endagered forests. So it is a win-win-win. I give someone the pleasure of buying me something I really want for Christmas, I get a vest I really want, and endagered forests get protected!
By the way, this website works kindof like the animal rescue site I posted about earlier. If you go to the rainforest site, and click on the "click to give" icon, you freely sponsor acres of forests. Sponsors and donors from other places count the number of hits that the site gets with the "clicks" and base their giving on that...so the more you click - the more they get! It is connected to the animal site (tabs on the top of the page) and I think there is hunger , child health, and other things you can click and give on too. :) So get clicker happy - wear that finger of your out!
